A MAN from Mberengwa, Midlands province was brutally assaulted with machetes and kidnapped in daylight at Gamu business centre by unknown assailants recently.
Provincial police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko said police were appealing for information that might help in locating the victim, Pardon Hove, of Northwood, Mberengwa, who has been missing since June 24.
“A group of five men approached his wife Sheron Ncube (25) at the couple’s homestead looking for him,” Mahoko explained.
“They were told that Hove was not at home. They then went to Gamu business centre where they found him.”
Mahoko said the men were allegedly seen assaulting Hove with machetes until he became unconscious.
“Two of the suspects carried him on their shoulders while others chased away onlookers. They then took him away,” he said.
“Only one of the suspects was identified as Arad, with no further particulars known. The other four are not known,” he said.
Mahoko appealed for information that may lead to the arrest of the suspects and the location of Hove.
