A 35-year-old Plumtree woman has been sent to jail after she followed two of her nieces in Botswana and assaulted them resulting in one of them losing her teeth.
Sharon Moyo was sentenced to 18 months in jail by magistrate Joshua Nembaware on the assault charges.
Prosecutor Selestine Madziwa said on May 2, Moyo followed Mitchel Moyo (17) and Thandiwe Ndlovu (18) who had crossed the border to Botswana.
The convict accused the duo of theft and hired thugs to tie the two with chains.
She assaulted them with a sjambok and later removed Ndlovu's teeth.
Moyo took the complaints to her house back in Zimbabwe and made them work in her field the whole night as punishment.
